CALL FOR ENTRIES

Attention all Associate, Bachelor, and Masters Degree candidates with an interest in the visual arts, currently enrolled at a Midwest Regional public or private college or university. No matter what major, if you paint, illustrate, sculpt, design, draw, photograph, or just create art, you are eligible to enter the 2nd Annual Fine Art Finals Midwest Regional Scholarship Competition.

Media accepted include:
Drawing - graphite, colored pencil, pen and ink, marker, pastel, charcoal, etc.
Painting - oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, etc.
Printmaking - etching, lithography, screen-printing, etc.
Sculpture - clay, ceramic, plaster, marble, glass, wood, resin, porcelain, metal, etc.
Jewelry - gemstones, precious metals or other materials, etc.
Fibers - textiles, fabrics, yarn, natural & synthetic fibers, etc.
Photography - traditional & digital.

This scholarship competition is dedicated to the promotion of talented and gifted emerging artists at the collegiate level and awards their mastery of technique and excellence of artistic achievement. Finalists and Winners will be selected based on quality, originality, and the creativity of their work.

First Place: $1200
Second Place: $600
Third Place: $300

Two Honorable Mentions:
$50 each

Yes, I am trying to influence you with this post. However, all I really want is for everyone to research what is important, make a decision and cast your vote. The project 1 logos that I have received to date are here. There is a new tab for the logos. I would like you guys to submit any additional feedback to each other as help in finalizing these marks for your identity systems. Any thing that you've thought of since the critique.

Malcolm Grear has played a vital role as designer and educator in the field of visual communication for 48 years. Malcolm Grear Designers was founded in 1960 and has had more than 28 solo exhibitions in museums and galleries. He taught in Rhode Island School of Design from 1960 to 1998 where he received the Honorary Alumnus Award for "professional achievements as an internationally acclaimed graphic designer (that) brought overwhelming recognition to Rhode Island School of Design's Department of Graphic Design and its graduates."

The One Club - 2009 COLLEGE COMPETITION

The 2008 College Competition presented students with the object of putting a new twist on one of the most famous snack foods around. The 2009 College Competition challenges them to the exact opposite: creating an advertising campaign and/or designing corporate branding for an unestablished brand. To do this, students will have to get creative with condiments. The 2009 client is Long’s Horseradish, a family owned company from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
