Google Chrome Logo

Read this post from Amit Agarwal from a couple weeks ago. Very interesting look at the new Google Chrome Logo. This is a perfect example of so many topics we discuss in our Corporate ID class. Enjoy. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

There's nothing a little 3D, reflection and shadow can't hide. (sarcasm;-)

OK, I wasn't sure what Google Chrome was so I looked it up and this is what is said;

"Google Chrome (BETA) for Windows
Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier"

Not only is it a rip off logo, its a bad rip off logo. If you could base the design off the quote above, it did not achieve that description either.

Wow. Pretty insane. I think the logo itself fits the name and function of the application well though. With a "chrome" being the interface of a web browsing application, the name of course fits while completely lacking any and all originality or cleverness. It would be like naming a brand of milk- "milk". Aside from the mark being a complete rip, it does create an image of some type of capsule or shell while incorporating google's color scheme. Shame on google for sucking.
